Merger Mania – LSE/TMX and NYSE/Deutsche Börse

So the LSE is going to ‘merge’ with Canada’s TMX. (I use the word ‘merge’ advisedly – as with all mergers there is one leading partner. In this case, despite protestations of a merger of co-equals, it is the LSE.)

Central counterparties and central banks

Jeremy Grant has raised an interesting point in his Quick View in the FT Trading Room, where he discusses the debate in the US about whether central counterparties (CCPs) should have access to the Federal Reserve’s Discount Window in a crisis.
